Compare the2024 Acura ZDXVS 2024 Cadillac Lyriq

For enhanced safety, the front and rear seat shoulder belts of the Acura ZDX have pretensioners to tighten the seatbelts and eliminate dangerous slack in the event of a collision and force limiters to limit the pressure the belts will exert on the passengers. The Cadillac Lyriq doesn’t offer pretensioners for its rear seat belts.

Both the ZDX and the Lyriq have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning and available around view monitors.

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ January 2024 Auto Issue reports that Acura vehicles are more reliable than Cadillac vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Acura fourth in overall reliability. Cadillac is ranked 16th.

The ZDX has more powerful engines than the Lyriq:

On the EPA test cycle the ZDX A-Spec RWD gets better mileage than the Lyriq RWD (96 city/83 hwy vs. 95 city/82 hwy MPGe).

For better stopping power the ZDX Type S’ front brake rotors are larger than those on the Lyriq:

The ZDX has a standard easy tire fill system. When inflating the tires, the vehicle’s integrated tire pressure sensors keep track of the pressure as the tires fill and tell the driver when the tires are inflated to the proper pressure. The Lyriq doesn’t offer vehicle monitored tire inflation.

The ZDX offers an available driver-adjustable suspension system. It allows the driver to choose between an extra-supple ride, reducing fatigue on long trips, or a sport setting, which allows maximum control for tricky roads or off-road. The Lyriq’s suspension doesn’t offer adjustable shock absorbers.

The ZDX has 9.6 inches more front hip room, .1 inches more front shoulder room and 12.3 inches more rear hip room than the Lyriq.

The ZDX has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat up than the Lyriq with its rear seat up (29.7 vs. 28 cubic feet). The ZDX has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat folded than the Lyriq with its rear seat folded (63 vs. 60.8 cubic feet).

The ZDX’s standard towing capacity is much higher than the Lyriq’s (3500 vs. 0 pounds).

Unlike the driver-only memory system in the Lyriq, the ZDX Type S has a passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

The ZDX Type S has a standard heads-up display that projects speed, warning, navigation instruction, infotainment and driver assistance information readouts in front of the driver’s line of sight, allowing drivers to view information without diverting their eyes from the road. The Lyriq doesn’t offer a heads-up display.

The ZDX’s rain-sensitive wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically based on the amount of rainfall on the windshield. This allows the driver to concentrate on driving without constantly adjusting the wipers. The Lyriq’s standard intermittent wipers change speed with vehicle speed, but can’t turn on and off or change speed based on changing rainfall.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the ZDX has a standard rear wiper. The Lyriq doesn’t offer a rear wiper.

Manual rear side window sunshades are available in the ZDX to help block heat and glare for the rear passengers. The Lyriq doesn’t offer rear side window sunshades.

The ZDX has a standard heated steering wheel to take the chill out of steering on extremely cold winter days before the vehicle heater warms up. A heated steering wheel is only available on the Lyriq Luxury/Sport.
